This local Shelton group has brought high energy, groove-laced music to the Pacific Northwest and beyond since 2004. The group has played over 215 shows and performs at venues all along the West Coast.
Formed of friends and brothers, the group creates a live synergy connecting music, band, and audience. Reggae, Funk, Rock, Trance, Latin, and other worldly styles of music get mixed into the performance, making each one both unique and accessible to many types of crowds. The band has been quickly embraced by a growing community of music lovers who enjoy the group's danceable tunes and the good vibes which are in abundance at every show.
After Spending most of 2004-05 honing their chops under a steady calendar of local performances, High Ceiling made 2006 a year in which they took the band to a higher level. They released their debut CD "Angle of Repose", bought a van, and began touring much farther from home, traveling to cities all over Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and California. Hard work turned into good opportunities in 2007 and High Ceiling looks back at a year in which they toured throughout the Western United States, playing increasingly larger venues and festivals in front of thousands of people. Now with 2008 in full swing, the band is hitting the road regularly and has already performed a 9 show Spring tour covering the whole Northern California empire. Through over four years of tireless hard work, High Ceiling has become a successful, original band that garners new fans with every song play and live performance.

In early 2003, a group of Olympia musicians realized they shared a serious hankerin' to play tunes from the 1920's and 1930's like they was played way back when.
The Tune Stranglers play every thing from hot jazz to slow blues, country melodies to swingin' rhythms, cowgirl yodelin' to croonin'' so sweet you're libel to get swooned right off'n yer feet. They strangle a fabulous array of old timey, hot jazz music featuring songs by some of the great amalgamators of American music such as Louie Armstrong, Bob Wills, Duke Ellington, Milton Brown, Fats Waller, Jimmie Rodgers, and Louis Prima.
The Tune Stranglers were received with great acclaim at some of the West Coast's premier festivals including Wintergrass and The Oregon Country Fair. They won the 2006 String Summit Music Festival's band competition at Horning's Hideout, Oregon and appeared as part of the main line-up at the String Summit in 2007.
The Tune Stranglers make records as if it's just as natural as balin' hay or milkin' a goat. Their first CD, If You Ain 't Right, Get Right, was released by Olympia independent music mainstay Yoyo Record ings. The second CD is a self -released collection of live takes from the weekly gig at the Brotherhood Tavern entitled Live on a Monday Night, and was reviewed highly by the Victory Review in January 2007. For the thi rd CD, the group was invited to Brooklyn in September of 2006 to record wi th the eclectic Engine Records. In between recording sessions the Tune Stranglers performed two ni ghts at
the legendary Ro deo Bar in New Yo rk C ity. The product of these sessions is a spankin' new CD entitled Stranglyn'.
The Tune Stranglers demonst rate their versatility and overwhelming desire to ham it up with anyone wackier than they a re by performing wi th The Mud Bay Jugglers, the Pacific Northwest's Ma sters of Levity. The Stranglers and Jugglers have performed together a cross the Northwest region including shows at the International Juggling Association's Conference, The Oregon Country Fair, Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts, and the juggler's 25th Anniversary shows at the State Theatre in Olympia, Washington.
