The Port is governed by a three member Board of Port Commissioners elected by the public, to a six-year term. The Board establishes policies under which the Port's staff - supervised by the Executive Director - conducts its daily operations.
These three elected officials are responsible for:
representing public interests
setting port policy
determining program direction
setting long and short range goals
approving the annual budget; and
assisting with leadership development of the organization.
The Port of Shelton Commission holds “Regular Meetings” every Tuesday at 2:00pm in the Commission Chambers located at the Port of Shelton Administrative Offices (21 West Sanderson Way, Shelton, WA 98584).
The first and third Tuesdays of each month are reserved for “action” items while the remaining Tuesday meetings are reserved for “workshops."
The public is encouraged and welcome to attend.

Thomas M. “Tom” Wallitner was born and raised in Washington, served in the Marine Corps and has been married since 1960. He has four adult children, 12 grandchildren and has been a business owner in Shelton since 1971.
He has 43 years experience in aviation, including 30 years as an airline pilot. Tom has been a labor negotiator and Professional Standards Chairman for the Airline Pilots Association.
He is active in real estate development and was an airport manager in Eastern Washington. He is currently the co-chairman of the Capital Campaign for St. Edwards’s Catholic Church.

Jack Miles was born in Rockford, Illinois and grew up in San Diego, CA. He joined the Marine Corp in 1990 and achieved rank of corporal. While in the Marine Corp, he worked as a legal assistant in the office of the Staff Judge Advocate in the Criminal Investigations Division. This position led him in travels after the Gulf War to Okinawa, Japan.
After the Corp, he pursued a career in radio and television broadcasting. He was a television sports broadcaster in Arizona providing play-by-plays for the Yavapai College Rough Riders and the Bradshaw Mountain Bears.In radio, Jack has been a news anchor and reporter. He has provided sports commentaries and served as a disc jockey for various radio stations in Arizona, California and Washington.

Jay Hupp graduated from Centralia High School and attended Brigham Young University.
After receiving his under graduate degree, he spent 20 years on active military duty as a Naval Aviator.
He graduated from The U.S. Naval War College, obtained an MBA from Pepperdine University and taught Human Resources and Organizational Management as an Associate Professor for the University of Alaska for three years.
Jay retired from the Navy in 1981. He started a small publishing business in Shelton, Washington
He has served on the Mason County Planning Commission, the Shorelines Advisory Board and was active in Rotary until becoming immersed in economic development work for the past 18 years.
Jay served as the Assistant Director for the Economic Development Council of Mason County from 1991 to 2005.
